Steven's work is primarily influenced by the geological forces that occur throughout Earth's landscape and how they are afflicted by climate change. Through the process of melting frozen blocks of paint, he can translate the natural geological mechanisms of the melting glaciers to replicate human-induced destruction to the planet. Steven is fascinated by paradoxical phenomenon of humanity's ignorance towards the consequences their effects have on the planet, leading to the inevitable destruction of their only home. He works full-time and lives and works in Richmond BC.
